To Float and To Flow

To Float and To Flow (2016), written for a chamber ensemble of soprano sax, violin, viola, cello, and piano, is inspired by elements from minimalist composers Philip Glass, Ólafur Arnalds, and Jóhann Jóhannsson, as well as from John Mackey’s Soprano Sax Concerto. The piece explores the various aspects of water, from gently flowing streams to more aggressive waterfalls.
